Anna Rodriguez Bio

Anna Rodríguez is an accomplished jazz singer who has been singing professionally for the past 25 years, and has built her career in Tenerife, captivating audiences on both local and national stages.

From an early age, Anna was immersed in music, inspired by her mother, who introduced her to jazz greats like Peggy Lee, Judy Garland, and Ella Fitzgerald.

Upon returning to Tenerife in 2002, Anna formed her first jazz band, Anacruza, performing at major festivals such as Realejazz, the Santiago del Teide Jazz Festival, and the Arona Jazz Festival. Later, in 2007, Anna entered a new phase with Three —formed by Eliseo Lloreda, Felu Morales, and J.M. Méndez “Churchi”— and performed at prestigious festivals like the Puerto de la Cruz Jazz Festival and Realejos Fusion.

Her project with guitarist Eliseo Lloreda as a duo has become one of her most successful collaborations. Since its inception in 2007, this duo has captivated audiences with moving performances. In 2010, they recorded their first album, What We Are, released in 2011 to critical acclaim. This work led them to perform at the renowned Canarias Jazz & Más International Festival, sharing the stage with the frontliners that year, Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin. In 2012, Anna and Eliseo were selected to pay tribute to singer Cesaria Evora in the “Cantos de Mujer” series. In 2021, they returned to the studio to release their third album, And…We Still Are, which reaffirmed their maturity and creativity as a duo.

Throughout her career, Anna has collaborated with musicians such as Augusto Báez, performing at venues like Espacio Guimerá and the Jazz Roja Festival. She has also been part of groups like FACE Quartet and IAFO Quartet, exploring various styles and textures within jazz and Latin music. In 2015, Anna recorded No Solo Jazz with Three, an innovative album that received excellent reviews, establishing her as one of the most versatile and profound jazz voices in the Canary Islands.

Anna has participated in numerous major festivals and events in the Canary Islands, sharing her passion for jazz across a variety of projects that span from classic jazz to Latin fusion, bossa nova, soul, and blues. Recent highlights include performances at Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme and the Canarias Jazz & Más International Festival, where in 2022, she shone once more, this time alongside the legendary SFJAZZ Collective in La Palma.
